The Friends Like Me program reaches out to women in Pennsylvania who have been
diagnosed with breast cancer within the last six months with a complimentary Friends Like
Me™ Care Package, containing educational publications, books and information, as well as
some "soft touches" like a pink ribbon pin and donated perfume. This care package helps
Pennsylvania women diagnosed within the past six months by providing educational and
inspirational information at a time when they need it most.
Please help by donating items for the care packages.
Donations will be collected until May 20th.
Ideas include:
notepads pink post-it notes pink pens
small pink hand lotions (trial size or 2-3 oz.) perfume
pink scarves and bandanas pocket calendars
items with the breast cancer ribbon pink rubber bracelets
pink stuffed animals (Beanie Baby size) breast cancer pins
Mrs. Horning’s Legacy
When you shop for the care package items, we encourage you to take your child
along and to explain to him/her how appreciated these items will be by the women who
receive them. Those conversations with your child will truly honor the memory of Mrs.
Lisa Horning and bring meaning to the motto she created…”Because Brecknock
Cares.”
