The news between the dispute between the Philippines and China over the South China Sea is not
new to Filipinos. Even if the Philippines won the case in the arbitral tribunal against China, the latter
still chose to disregard this and go on their way in claiming the territory. This is terrifying in the
sense that the dispute is a ticking time bomb that can lead to war. In that case, the government
should do its best to ensure that its security ties with allies and neighboring countries continue to

Too often, the notion/concept of national security is "misinterpreted" and made too narrow. It's a
common belief of many that national security only entails the protection of states borders from
outside threats. In recent times, this seems to not be the case, since the dangers that states faces now
threatens the life of the individual, therefore, protection of the citizens, their wellbeing, and the laws
of the land becomes a priority which links it or makes it human security. States like the US are
adjusting their foreign policies to fit this new human security as national security approach. Also,
with the world becoming a small global village, states are using less military force to settle dispute.

When God created the earth, he created us in his own image, so technically, we are all created
equal. But so many people have put it into their heads that their purebloods compared to
mudbloods, but in reality, blood is blood. It doesn't matter if you have more money than someone
else or if your skin is a different pigment than someone else's. It doesn't matter if you like the
opposite gender while someone else likes the same gender. It doesn't matter if you have a male
reproductive system or a female reproductive system. It doesn't matter if you have one parent or
two, and it doesn't matter if you have two dads, two moms, or one of each. It shouldn't matter
what you have in your life that's different than somebody else to make you be of a more
privileged status because, in the long run, we are all just skin, bones, blood, thoughts, words,
color, and emotions. How would you feel if the entire world around you lost all color? What
would you see? You would see black and white. Because without black and white, there is no
basis for any color to grow. Black and white are what the foundation of our world is. When you
make a pencil mark on a paper, what two colors do you see? Black and white. You see, black and
white cannot be avoided for they are simply the origin of life. There should be no discrimination
against black people for the color of their skin and the same goes with man and woman. You do
not have a say in the color of your skin or the reproductive system you are born with. And if you
aren't, what makes you think that anyone else had that option when they were born. We need each
other to survive. We need each other to live life on this earth the way it was supposed to be lived.
