 Oasis was signed by the head of Creation Records, Alan McGee, in 1994, having
not even sent a single demo tape to any record label. In spring that year
'Supersonic' entered the UK charts.
 In April 1995, they achieve their very
first UK number 1 ‘Some Might Say’.
 Over the course of 1996, '(What's the
Story) Morning Glory?' became the
second-biggest British album in history,
eclipsed only by The Beatles 'Sgt Pepper'
album.
 They spent 1999 writing and recording
'Standing on the Shoulder of Giants',
which was released in 2000. They then
toured again, before releasing the live
album 'Familiar to Millions'.

 The 1987 release of Guns n’ Roses’ debut album, Appetite for Destruction, was a
pivotal moment in rock history.
 Guns N Roses helped rock rediscover its edge, rage and sense of danger.
 In the U.S., "Welcome to the Jungle" was
issued as the album's first single, with an
accompanying music video. Initially, the
album and single lingered for almost a year
without performing well, but when Geffen,
founder David Geffen, was asked to lend
support to the band, he obliged, personally
convincing MTV executives to play ‘Welcome
to the Jungle’ during their after-hours
rotation. Even though the video was initially
only played once at 4am on a Sunday, heavy
metal and hard rock fans took notice and
soon began requesting the video and song.

 Music videos quickly became a must-have for the artists and for some time,
this was more important than the actual song.
 Primarily, a music video is an advertisement.
 A music video is designed to draw attention to the song and some videos were
designed to illustrate the song/music.
 A music video appeals to a visual audience.

always something fun happening in the video/storyline.
