SUMMARY
A software architect with an extensive engineering background that is able to use the design,
development and implementation of software solutions to enable a few to do the work of dozens in a
variety of arenas (including aerospace engineering (structures), logistics, human resources and finance).
Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer, License No. M 025927, State of California
EMPLOYMENT / EXPERIENCE
INTERNATIONAL MISSION BOARD (Chiang Mai, Thailand) January 2001 - Dec 2015
Application Development Team Leader / Software Architect / Software Engineer. Led a software
development team to cut organizational costs by over 50% by replacing manually intensive processes
with robust software solutions including .NET web applications (C#, ASP.NET, HTML, MVC). Silverlight
web applications (C#, XAML, MVVM), Windows Forms Applications (C#), and RESTful web services
(Web API) using SQL Server / Entity Framework as the primary data store. Solutions employed object
oriented techniques, design patterns, and a service oriented architecture to insure robustness, longevity
and maintainability.
FRIENDS OF ASIA FOUNDATION (Chiang Mai, Thailand) April 2009 – Jan 2015
Educator (Physics, Mathematics, English). Taught introductory physics and college level calculus at local
high schools. Taught English to government officials who subsequently saw dramatic improvements in
TOEIC test scores.
THE BOEING COMPANY (Long Beach, California) Aug 1984 - Jan 2001
Senior Engineer/Scientist – C17 Program. Led an engineering team to cut costs and expand analysis
scope for the structural analysis group on the C-17 program by replacing manually intensive processes
with robust software solutions that allowed dozens of airframe engineers to perform work that previously
required hundreds (or more). Solutions included IBM Mainframe (FORTRAN) based pre- and post-
processing software for finite element (FEM) systems; entirely new software solutions for full scale static
test loads generation and analysis; and software to identify aircraft specific fatigue inspection
requirements based on data downloaded from the flight data recorder.
EDUCATION
MASTER OF THEOLOGY – Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. Date of graduation: June 1997.
