2. EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Software Engineer at CAE USA
Languages used: Perl, C#, C, Bash, Ada
Tampa, FL
September 2013 - Current
Software Engineer responsibilities performed:
Integral part of a Training Systems Support Center (TSSC) team responsible for the concurrency and routine
software/hardware updates to suite of C-130J aircrew and maintenance training devices. Training devices across the
spectrumare included in TSSC work scope including FAA Level D full-motion simulators, Level 5 Aircrew Training
Devices and numerous lower-level training devices..
System design work associated with incorporating changes into the aircrew training device(s) baselines. These changes are
varied in scope but based on stakeholder(s) input and involve improvement.
Develop/maintain software according to the Waterfall life cycle software development model.
Strong proficiency in software configuration management (CM) processes. Implementation of CM practices using the
Revision Control System(RCS) which automates the storing, retrieval, logging, identification, and merging of revisions .
Works independently, adapting software design/modification guides to specific situations, revolving problems and deviations
according to established internal practices.
Applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of basic analytical engineering problems assigned.
Selects or modifies proven methods, mathematical formulae, previous design and test information, handbookdata, or other
available information related to assignments.
Prepares and completes the design of components or portions of moderately complex functional systems, working from
overall operations, functional, quality, and similar design requirements.
Performs liaison with and provides technical assistance to the test group during test preparation and actual testing phases.
Update/upgrade/maintain tools used in development efforts associated with variety of training devices.
Develop and implement code changes using CMMI Level 3 and AS9100C certified processes.
o Experience in modifying code for Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and training device Host computers.
Maintain and manage eight (8) C-130J usersites worldwide covering four (4) aircrew device code baselines.
o Experience in Government and Company AS9100C compliant processes associated with configuration management,
concurrency management, and quality assurance associated with software development.
Accomplishments:
Helped overhaul the process for designing tool scripts. Introduced the concept of Perl Modules which allow for sharing
segments of code between scripts.Resulted in fewer lines of code per script and quicker tool development. – November 2013
Critical software developer in a major redesign project of a component of the C-130J flight simulator baseline. This involved
identifying customer requirements associated with the aircraft real world threat detection/response systemand developing
improved software simulation. Solution was created that redesigned the C# userinterface (UI) layout of the threat Instructor
Operating Station (IOS) pages. This redesign allows simulator instructors with increased functionality by incorporating a
pop-up feature for threat insertion. – April 2014
Key member of quality Kaizen event with charter to streamline processes forintegrating multiple software baselines across
entire fleet of C-130J simulators. Significant contributorto the subsequent actions associated with baseline control and
integration.
Participated and managed major baseline integration effort. This process included taking all changes ourcustomers required
to the multiple baselines managed, evaluating them, integrating the code into the product baseline, and run Quality Assurance
(QA) tests on the end result. Succeeded in integrating over 100 code changes to the product baseline within a four month
span. Additionally; created a tracking systemfor the documentation and key milestones for this integration effort. This
tracking systemsignificantly helped the entire TSSC team stay on track for the effort and provided a feedback mechanism to
company and Government management staffs. – June 2015
Software Engineer at Acxiom
Languages used: Java, SQL, R, Perl, Python
Conway, AR
June 2012 - December 2012
Software Engineer responsibilities include:
Update/upgrade/maintain applications.
3. Develop and implement code changes for approved projects.
Develop and execute unit tests for developed features and applications.
Function as part of the development team in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Integral part of a software development research team implementing various programs over a Hadoop cluster.
Implemented programs over the cluster to help visualize the data in a geographical fashion.
Researched methods to efficiently gleam, sort, and analyze data from Twitter information.
Accomplishments:
Took statistical data (including gps locations, names, etc) and visualized it into a heat map of America. The purpose was to
demonstrate to the company where we had the most information on people in the Nation to better target our advertisement –
August 2012.
Helped create a twitter regular expression sifter script. The point was to take free to obtain twitter data, try to parse the gps
information, and the name information and associate it with hashtags used in order to help advertisers bettertarget their
audiences – December 2012.
