The genre of my short film is an OBJECTIVE DOCUMENTARY in which the only ‘commentary’ comes from the people about whom the film is being made. GENRE
2. GENRE Who is my anticipated audience? The target audience for my film are women aged between 30-50 . The central character in my film is a 44 year old woman so her role will attract my anticipated audience. Primarily, the film is about love, and the struggle to find it. This is another reason the film will appeal to a more female audience. The subject matter I am covering is very current as internet dating websites become more popular among 30-50 year old adults. A recent match.com advert on TV exclaimed how there were ‘too many women’ on their database, and more men needed to join. Does this suggest it is more difficult for older women to find love than older men? And if so, why is this true? This is a subject my film will cover, and I think this will, again, attract a female audience.
