3. Industrial area
4. Agricultural area
5. Tourism area
6. Residential area
Hence, I choosing a location at Sekinchan as our site due to its good geography and it is a place suitable to
develop as a tourism area.
1.2 INTRODUCTION TO SEKINCHAN
Location Of Sekinchan
2. SEKINCHAN is a small town located in the state of SELANGOR,MALAYSIA. It is about 102 km north
of Kuala Lumpur, and 28 km from Kuala Selangor. Sekinchan is in the middle of the main rice-bowl area
of Selangor, in the Sabak Bernam district. It is one of the major rice producing areas of Malaysia.
Sekinchan in CHINESE mean "village suitable for plantation', the land and weather is suitable for farming of
rice, fruits and oil palm trees. It is the highest rice production per acre in Malaysia. Total farming land paddy
and fruits is about 4,300 acres. You can see a wide green paddy field on your right when you arrive
in Sekinchan. It also popular as a fishing village.
Short History Of Sekinchan
In the of 1920s, Sekinchan is a small fishing village, the main fishing area is Bagan, Bagan is the birthplace
of SEKINCHAN. The early inhabitants are almost all Teow Chew who are also fishermen who depend on
fishing for their livelihood. This small fishing village, then gradually move the population from outside come
in, and eventually developed into today's scale.
3. In the year of 1953, in order to segregate the villager from the early Malayan Communist Party insurgents.
The villagers are isolated, and hence formed the Site A, B, C and Bagan. It is a coastal rice planting area, it has
a unique geographical environment, SEKINCHAN is not only have broad paddy field but also rich in fish,
people named it as “Land Of Plenty”.
At time of British colonial era, the Teow Chew villagers of coastal area called Sekinchan as “ Ang Mo Gang”
due to a lot of British people were staying here. Meanwhile Hokkien people call it as “Sixteenth Gi’,
as Sekinchan is located 16 miles from KualaSELANGOR. Both names are still being called by the old
generation nowadays. The total population is achieving 20,000 peoples and 60% isCHINESE, 30% is Malay
and 10% is other races. The main economy activities are agriculture and fishing industry. Total farming land
is about 4700 acres, and there more than 300 fishing trawlers in Sekinchan.

village, Site B has over 400 households, most of them are Cantonese and Hakka, beside involve in agriculture,
the villagers in Site B also involve inBUSINESS. There are many of old shops, coffee shop and grocery stores

Sekinchan - A Fast Developing Tourist Attraction
5. SEKINCHAN is actually a fishing village, but now is more widely recognized as a famous paddy
field instead of a fishing village.
Here, you can drive right beside the paddy fields. There are roads connecting the town with the small village
located in the center of the paddy fields. Along the way, you will find water path (aqueduct), little bridge,
birds and of course the paddy.
There are also factories which allow visits. The staff will brief you on the paddy plantation PROCESS, type
of rice. You can also purchase the rice here which is not available in the market. Besides rice, you can also
get nice mangoes at the stalls along Sekinchanmain road. On the other side of the road is the fishing village.
You can also stop by to have a look at the fishing boats and jetty. Do stop by for some seafood too.

9. MY PROPOSAL
The site that we require find is an blank empty and there is nothing inside the area.
I decide to choose the site to develop as a tourism area due to there is an urban area and there is a big paddy
field beside the site. Besides that , there are also some facilities which can make the tourist to having fun
during their trip.
Hence, I decide to build a hotel in my site and having some value package to attract tourist to enjoy the
journey. My initial idea was build a eco-tourism area which there consist of a hotel which allow the tourist to
stay overnight or having a rest while they travel their trip, a carpark beside the hotel which allow tourism to
park their vehicles and there is also a bicycle rental store to let the tourist rent the bicycle and travel around
the area.
My idea for the site
There area that I going to design will be divide into 4 parts as shown below
CARPARK
BICYCLE
RENTAL
ROAD
HOTEL
As we can see that the left part of the side will be an bicycle rental place to allow the tourist to
rent the bicycle and travel around the place , the middle uppepr part will be the carpark so that
the tourist can park their own vehicles. The right part of the side will be the hotel so that the
tourist can rest and stay overnight at the hotel during their trip.
The design above is base on the requirement of the tourist which that the carpark design at the
upper park beside the hotel so that the tourist can move and travel around easily in and out of the
hotel
10. HOTEL
The hotel has 5 storey. The bottom floor consist of lobby and restaurant and the other 4storey is the hotel
room. The small hotel is be build in smaller size due to its limited space area.Inside the hotel there is a lift to
allow the tourist to move around the hotel easily.
CARPARK
The carpark is build beside the hotel to allow the tourist to move in and out the hotel to carpark easily. The
carpark is design and build in the standard size which is 2.5m x 5.0m .
11. BICYCLE RENTAL
The bicycle rental is one of our special feature in our area. The bicycle rental is use for rent the bicycle to the
tourist to allow them to travel around the area or to the paddy field to enjoy the natural life and how the natural
style looks like.
HOW THE SITE BENEFITS AND IMPACT TO THE END USER?
First we need to understand that what are the area surrounding our site. There are education area, residential
area, commential area and many. Besides that , there are also a big paddy field beside the site .Hence, I decide
to do a tourism area which planning a lot of schedule and package trip for the tourist to attract the to come to
Sekinchan and enjoy their wonderful holiday.
Moreover, there is a bicycle rental place which also can allow student around the education area to park or
rent the bicycle to travel to school.
12. INTRODUCTION TO SITE
This is the site which mainly focus on tourism area .The area a lot of features and facilities in this area such
as hotel with restaurant, bicycle rental place and carpark .This is a beautiful village style 2stars hotel which
design by famous well known architect – Ng Kwang Zhou . The design of the hotel will be bottom part as
lobby and restaurant which allow the customer to having their meal which check in nor check out. Beside that
we concern about the user of the hotel so we design a carpark beside the hotel so that user of the hotel and
travel in and out smoothly to the hotel and there is safety guard will in charge so that to ensure the hotel user’s
car is safe. Besides that, there will be a 24/7 bicycle rental place to allow people to rent or park their bicycle
on day or night time.
