2. ITALY is a peninsula
located in central-
southern Europe,
inhabited by about 60
million people.
It is divided into 20 regions and the Istituto
Comprensivo of Alvignano is located in the
Campania region, in the south of Italy.
3. Italy is a boot-shaped
peninsula and has
numerous islands:
the largest are
Sardinia and Sicily.
4. The Italian population is the
result of a large number of
migrations, from
Mediterranean and non-
Mediterranean regions, which
have settled in different
areas: Phoenicians, Greeks,
perhaps Etruscans, Arabs,
Normans, Spaniards arrived
by sea; Italics, Illyrians, Celts,
Germans, Slavs by land.
5. The capital of Italy is Rome, a city rich in history and famous
monuments like Coliseum, S.Peter Church, S.Angelo Castle,
Pantheon and many others...
6. Culture
Italian culture is Italy's collective heritage of knowledge. Fulcrum of the
Roman Empire and seat of the Catholic Church, meeting point of many
Mediterranean civilizations, cradle of numerous artistic movements,
Italy has been one of the most flourishing cultural centers in Europe
since ancient times.

7. The closest major cities to our school are Caserta and Naples.
Caserta is famous for the Royal Palace, built in January 20,
1752 by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli.
8. Naples is known for its Vesuvius volcano, for the
splendid sea and for the excellent culinary traditions,
such as Pizza, Sfogliatelle and Limoncello liqueur.
11. The headquarter of our school is in Alvignano,
Our institute includes 3 levels of school:
Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School of 1st
grade. The age of our students is between 3 years
and 13/14 years.
In total there are approximately
700 students, 125 teachers and 25
administrative assistants and
janitors.
12. KINDERGARTEN
The comprehensive institute is spread over 3 villages, close to
each other, Alvignano, Dragoni e Baia Latina.
The Infant schools are located in Alvignano, Dragoni, Maiorano,
Baia Latina.
