Certication
Exam Format
The COBIT® 5 Foundation Exam is in the
Multiple Choice format, with 50 questions
per paper. To pass, 25 marks or more are
required (out of 50 available). The Exam is of
40 minute duration, and is a closed book
exam.
The COBIT® 5 qualications are not valid for a
dened period and do not expire.

The Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT®) is a
compilation of best practices for both Governance and Management of Enterprise
IT. This framework has been co-created by the Information Systems Audit and
Control Association (ISACA) and the IT Governance Institute (ITGI).
COBIT® 5, the latest edition of ISACA's globally accepted framework, is applicable to
all enterprises that use IT for their daily processes. It provides a comprehensive
view of the governance of enterprise IT, and emphasizes the central role of
information and technology in creating lasting business value for enterprises.
COBIT® 5 encapsulates principles, practices, analytical tools and models that have
been put together by global experts in business, IT and governance.
There are three separate qualications: the Foundation, Implementation level and
Assessment level. Obtaining the Foundation qualication will show that you have
sucient knowledge and understanding of the COBIT® 5 guidance to be able to
clearly understand the governance and management of enterprise IT, assess the
present state of IT and evaluate which aspects of COBIT® 5 can be successfully
implemented in your organization.
