This document discusses the influence of cooling channel position and form on polymer solidification and temperature distribution in injection molding dies. A numerical analysis was conducted using ANSYS on a cup-shaped component made of ABS plastic with various cooling channel configurations. The results show that cooling channel position significantly impacts cooling time and temperature uniformity. The optimal position was found to be A2B2C1C2E2E3, as it provided the most uniform cooling and shortest cooling time. Circular cooling channels were also found to perform better than square or rectangular channels of the same cross-sectional area. While conformal cooling channels expelled the most heat, they did not provide uniform cooling and could cause residual stresses and defects. In conclusion,
