The Purpose of this overview 
is to give you a basic grasp on 
how to handle our beginner 
books. The representative 
book that we will use for this 
level is Exploring English 1. A 
separate presentation will be 
given on how to handle the 
other books at the beginner 
levels.

The book’s purpose to teach the 
following objectives in this order in 
every unit of the book: 
Teaching Objectives 
1. First, Teach Syllabication 
2. Second, Teach Pronunciation of 
words and sentences 
3. Third, Teach Spelling 
4. Fourth Teach meaning of daily 
words 
5. Fifth Teach verbal usage of 
learned words
Exploring English 1 and 2 
The book’s target age, level and 
study period: 
Primarily for Adults 
Secondary for Children and Teens 
Low-Beginners (EB1) 
Beginners (EB2) 
Two Months 
20 days/ 4 weeks (stage 1) 
20 days/ 4 weeks (stage 2)
Exploring English 1 and 2 
Later we will study the difference 
between teaching adults, teens and kids 
Primarily for Adults 
Secondary for Children and Teens 
We will study the difference between 
teaching beginners, intermediate and 
advance 
Low-Beginners (EB1)

Exploring English 1 and 2 
The book’s usage and the lesson flow 
1. First always prioritize teaching the 
objectives of the book first: Spelling, 
Syllabication, Pronunciation, Vocabulary 
Meaning, Vocabulary Oral Usage 
2. Second answer the questions and 
tasks in the book using the remaining 
time or as Homework. 
3. Third always make the student 
answer the book’s questions verbally. 
Student dictates the answers, the teacher 
writes them on the book.

First, Syllabication and Pronunciation 
1. Read aloud key words of the unit 
2. Read aloud key sentences 
Second, Spelling 
3. Spell words in papers 
4. Spell words verbally 
Third, Vocabulary meaning and usage

body language, simple description 
6. Make student use the words orally

The main teaching technqiues 
Modeling I: “Repeat after me” 
1. Read aloud key words of the unit 
2. Read aloud key sentences 
Repetition: “Say it again, Write it again” 
3. Spell words in papers 
4. Spell words verbally 
Modeling II: “Repeat back the meaning” 
5. Teach meaning using pictures, body 
language, simple written descriptions
