The two concerts I have chosen are different in many ways, but the music itself has a lot in common.
For the first concert I chose the progressive rock group Dream Theater. I chose the piece
"Instrumedley" from their Live at Budokan video released in 2004. This video depicts the band
setup on stage in the typical rock concert format. The lighting is bright and multicolored. Unlike
most rock concerts, the musicians do not animate themselves to excite the crowd. They rely on the

for a music degree as my career plan long term is to work in music. My interest in music began
when I started playing cornet in my local Youth Brass Band at age 7 and have worked myself up
