3. Gossip is as old as the language is
itself and it is the source of
amusement.
But it has not received its due
acceptance from the civilized people.
Gossip is considered as negative
trait. However, it means to lesson the
cares and worries of life.
Gossip ties us to the past historical
events.
4. The etymologically, the word gossip is
Anglo-Saxon term ‘Godsibbe’ for god parent and
relative. In Renaissance its meaning widened
“friends and cronies (old intimate friends)”. Its
meaning is rooted in our social structure.
5. It’s better to name Gossip as oral tradition. Though
it’s different than literature but there are few things
similar to literature like it keep in touch with the old
events and stories of the past.
6. Some people claim that Gossip is used to
just criticize others and make fun for
pleasure.
But the writer says that it serves as the
first step towards a moral education.
Writer says that everyone wants to gossip
but no one wants to become subject of
Gossip.
