3. What is Family Planning?
It is the process of planning when to
have children, and the use of birth control
and other techniques to implement such
plans. It is the practice of controlling the
number of children in a given family.

• Mothers and their babies are healthier
when risky pregnancies are avoided.
• Delaying first and second pregnancy lets
young people stay in school.
• Smaller families mean more money and
food for each child.

There are many methods of family
planning. Some may be more effective
than others, some easier to use or do
than others and some are harder to use
or may be less effective if you don’t use
them in a correct way.
7. Oral Contraceptive Pills
What is a Pill?
A pill filled with hormones that is taken
everyday which prevent the release of egg and
prevents or blocks the sperm from meeting the egg.

How to Use
You take one pill everyday, after finishing a
pack, start a new one the very next day, be careful not
to miss a day, take missed pills as soon as possible.
