Momentum is something that God is familiar with. He blessed the early church with this concept so that it could grow even in the midst of persecution and difficult times. In Acts 9:31 after the conversion of Paul, Luke records this statement about the early church: “Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.” Luke uses the word “strengthened” to describe the momentum the early church enjoyed as they continued to spread their message from person to person and city to city. He also adds the interesting phrase “encouraged by the Holy Spirit,” which shows the presence of God’s Spirit in the midst of the early church. This presence brought a power that would bring about change, growth, and a positive perspective of the future. Just as the Holy Spirit brought momentum to the early church, He can work through believers to bring momentum to believers today who are leading businesses“ for Kingdom Impact!
