Final Photos

 Kelsey Smith
I made this picture by using John Stezakers technique of
merging two photos together to make one. I did this by using
photo shop. I placed one photo on top of the other and
changed the settings to ‘overlay’. I made sure that the picture
of my dog was on the first layer so that I could make it
opaque and the sunset shines through. I also edited the
opacity of the pictures. I think the idea of making two photos
                      into one is very effective.
I also got my inspiration from a photographer named Carli
Davidson. Carli takes a lot of pictures of animals. I also took a
lot of picture of my pets for this shoot.
This is my world because the houses our on my street so I
see this area every day so I consider this as part of ‘my
world’. I have also tried to incorporate rule of the thirds be
placing the picture of my dog on the far left. I think this
makes the photo more effective. I like the way I have edited
this photo because it makes it look very unique. My dog is
also a big part of ‘my world’ so I thought it would have been
necessary to take a picture of her.
On this photo I tried to use the technique of Roland
Hicks. Roland tends to take pictures of his belongings
from different angles. I got close up to my guitar and
tried to take the photo from down low to try to create
an ‘unusual angle’ sort of look. I also tried to use the
‘leading lines’ rule of composition. I did this by making
the camera go out of focus on the actual guitar neck.
You can see the edges of the guitar neck gradually
getting smaller by the top of the picture. Playing guitar
is a big part of my life and it has been for a few years so
I thought this would be a perfect possession to take
photos of for my ‘my world’ project. The composition of
this photo also includes depth of field as the camera is
focused on the strings of the guitar but the top of the
                    guitar neck is blurred.
I have made this photo by using an effect by
Clarence John Laughlin. I did this by putting 3 of
the same photo onto photo shop. I deleted
different halves of two of the layers and left the
original background normal. I also made the
photo black and white which is another effect
that Clarence uses. Clarence tends to merge
photos together to create a better effect. I have,
again, used a picture of my dog for this project.
My dogs have always been a big part of my life so
they would be an ideal thing to take pictures of.
This was also inspired by Carli Davison as she is
             an animal photographer.
This picture was inspired by Roland
Hicks. I wear these shoes a lot so
they are a big part of ‘my world’. I
have uses Roland Hicks effect by
going down low and taking the
picture from a different angle. I have
also gotten quite close up to the
shoes which is another one of
          Rolands techniques.
I was inspired to take this picture by Roland
Hicks. I wear earrings everyday so they would
be ideal to take photos of for my ‘my world’
project. I made the contrast of this photo
high to make the photo more effective and
clear. I purposely made it clear that my
bracelets were also in the background
because they are also a big part of my world.
I wear both my bracelets and earrings daily. I
like this photo because I have focused well on
the actual earrings and managed to blur out
                  the background.
