2. Internet is the largest technological experiment
ever conducted. It has made a tremendous
revolution in the computer and communication
world. Internet came into existence in 1960 as
a small network, when USSR and USA involved
in a cold war. USA felt that their should be a
network through which they can send secret
messages to the army force control rooms in
order to be alert and vigilant. In 1969, a
computer network was created known as a
ARPANET (Advanced Research Agency
Network). This technique was temper prove
and messages reached the destination surly.
3. In 1973, Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf of ARPA,
jointly designed the Internet work architecture, that
would allow packet networks of different kinds of
interconnection and machines to communicate
across the set of interconnected networks. The
Internet architecture was based on a protocol (set
of rules that governs internet) that came to be
known as TCP/IP (Transmission Control
Protocol/Internet Protocol).
4. In 1980,the department of defense of USA
adopted the TCP/IP protocol as a standard and
began to use. In 1991, the modern Internet came
into existence, when ARPANET had became
superfluous and was disconnected. World Wide
Web (WWW) developed by Tim Berners Lee at
European Particle Physics Laboratory. WWW was
based on Graphical User Interface, which is also
known as WEB. Now Internet has became the fast
and best way of sending and receiving messages
and has became very popular among people.
