This document lists major events that occurred during George W. Bush's presidency from 2000-2010, including his disputed election in 2000, passage of the No Child Left Behind Act, the September 11th terrorist attacks, establishment of the Department of Homeland Security and passage of the Patriot Act, U.S. offensives in Afghanistan and Iraq which overthrew the Taliban and Saddam Hussein respectively, and several natural disasters such as the Indian Ocean tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, and Hurricane Sandy.
