Act 1: In the beginning of the story we are introduced to 1 character that is walking out a
movie theater that is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, his name is Ponyboy Curtis. But later on
in the story they'll introduce more characters like Darry or Sodapop. Also, the theme is that
no matter what life throws at you, you have to power threw it and not give up. And the
climax is when Ponyboy and Darry get into an argument and Darry smacks Ponyboy and he
runs out the door and runs away.
2. Act 2: The rising action for The Outsiders would be when Ponyboy and Jonny go into the
burning church to rescue the kids inside and a beam falls on Jonny. And the climax was
when Jonny dies due to the fire. When you start to read The Outsiders it’s slow but soon you
will know what’s going on. Jonny dies from an injury from a church fire.
3. Act 3: The falling action for the outsiders would be when they got into the big rumble and
the greasers were madder at the Socs because of what had happened to Jonny. And the
resolution is when Jonny dies and he says "stay golden Ponyboy" when Jonny was in the
Hospital. The tone is stressful because of Jonny's death and the big rumble that night. And
the mood is sad and cold because the greasers just lost an important member.
