2. What is Yammer?
From SchoolBiz January 29 2016
Yammer is your professional social network that makes real-time communication,
collaboration and information sharing between you and your colleagues across the
department easier and more efficient. Think of it as an enterprise brainstrust or a
virtual assistant you can access at any time.
There are almost 20,000 staff on the network sharing their expertise, asking relevant
questions about their professional worklife, connecting with new and familiar
colleagues and keeping up to date with the news in the department. It's also helping
leadership and staff to understand the social media environment in a closed safe
environment, and for those who run groups, it's giving them experience in online
community management.
There are 100s of groups to join that can support you in your daily worklife whether you
are part of the school executive team, a policymaker, a teacher, a SAS staff member,
regional consultant or any other role.
6. Yammer Groups
The most important Library based Groups we
should join are
- Library Matters
- SLS Forum
- SASS working in the Library
- SLS Forum is the only place we should be
asking OLIVER questions. It is monitored by the
SLS Oliver Implementation team.
- We have been asked by the SLS Team NOT to
ask OLIVER questions on NSWTL.
- SLS Forum has files and guides on using OLIVER
as well as links to teaching OLIVER to students.
- All groups as well as the All Company feed are
searchable
8. Yammer on the Go
Yammer has an app for mobile
phones and tablets.
There is also a desktop version.
Now it’s your turn.
Log into Yammer either via the
Staff Portal or via yammer.com.
- You will need to log in using
your DoE Email address.
