3. What is STaR chart? School Technology and Readiness Designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology.
4. Long-Range Plan for Technology NCLB mandates that all students are technology literate by the end of the 8th grade. Technology TEKS must be taught. NCLB mandates that all teachers are technology literate. SBEC mandates technology competencies of all beginning teachers.

8. How can we use these results? Teachers are able to assess their current knowledge of technology and their professional development needs. Campuses and districts can use the data to determine budget based on teacher and classroom needs. Educators, campuses, and districts are able to determine their progress toward meeting the State expectations for Technology and Instruction.
9. Conclusion In order to meet the needs of the 21st century learner, it is imperative that educators integrate technology into their classrooms. The Long Range Plan for Technology and the TEKS set the standards and goals for implementation. We can use the STaR chart to ensure that we are on the track to success.
