  2. 2. Our school Primary School number 3 in Żory Our school was founded in 1973. There are about 470 students (ages 6-13) and 40 teachers at our school. We have two computer laboratories, 18 other classrooms designed for different subjects and 5 interactive ready-for-use boards, two gyms and the outdoor playing area for small children, the playground and football pitch.

  4. 4. Warsaw Warsaw is the capital and largest Polish city, located in the central-eastern part of the country on the Vistula River. Interesting places: Palace of Culture and Science, Old Town, Wilanow
  5. 5. Cracow Cracow is one of the oldest Polish cities . Former Capital City of Poland. Interesting places: Wawel, Barbakan, St. Mary’s Church
  6. 6. Wroclaw Old Polish town. Interesting places: Old town, Ostrów Tumski, very big and nice zoo
  7. 7. Zakopane Mountain town. Interesting places: Tatry, Krupowki
  8. 8. Gdansk Town near the Baltic Sea. Interesting places: Baltic, of Neptune, Old Town. Fountain
  9. 9. Katowice The capital of Silesia (our region). Interesting places: Spodek, Silesian Culture and Recreation Park

  11. 11. Karol Wojtyla Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 in October 16, 1978 he became Pope – John Paul II.
  12. 12. Maria Sklodowska-Curie Born November 7, 1867. Discovered the elements radium and polonium. Won The Noble Prize twice.
  13. 13. Mikolaj Kopernik February 19, 1473 - May 24, 1543. Proved that the sun is the center of the solar system.
  14. 14. Fryderyk Chopin Fryderyk Chopin 1810 - 1849. He was a very famous composer.
  15. 15. Lech Walesa The creator of "Solidarity". Polish President in the years 1990 to 1995.
  16. 16. Roman Polanski Famous film director.
  17. 17. Traditions Smigus Dyngus known as wet Monday - old Polish tradition celebrated on the Monday after Easter. Boys pour water on girls.
