6. SHIKSHA MISSION:
Realizing the hollowness of the Indian education system, volunteers took a
major step in educating children in nearby government schools which lacks to
provide children, a fundamental education. We also teach children in slums
and motivate them to go to school.
LEPROSY EVENT:
Discarding such baseless concepts and to give those people hope of life,
volunteers celebrate World Leprosy Day and Republic Day every year with
Leprosy contracted people of Indra Kushta Ashram. They are encouraged to
study, to learn and never lose hope so that someday they might become dutiful
citizens.
RAHAT:
Northern India, each years, witness extremely cold winters. It is through Rahat,
the volunteers carry out a large scale blanket and warm cloth distribution to the
needy and poor to help them sustain extreme cold.
7. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES:
By Organising plantation drives, providing food and water in hanging
pitchers for birds in summer and cleanliness drives under Swachh Bharat
Abhiyaan have been the major events which reflect the organization’s
sustainable perspective towards our environment.
HEALTH CARE:
In association with many hospitals, we have organized medical camps
and blood donation events. Health camps are too being organized in
villages with poor medical facilities. Doctors treat villagers free of cost
providing quality medicines and treatment.
9. India has a total literacy rate of 71% with 82% male and 65%
female.
With 30% of India’s population under 15 years , the GER
(Gross enrollment ratio) which has increased to 96% is good
sign in education sector.
But, with 25% of public sector teachers absent in schools has
put education system on its knees.
59% of the schools had no drinking water and 89% had no
toilets
For BPL families, as expenses of living have gone up, the
lower secondary level participation has become merely 52%
with 48% dropout rate
10. Most of the government schools do no have adequate supply
of books. This has made education access difficult for poor
children.
Mid day meal, government initiatives for providing books to
poor have not been implemented properly . Hence their
outcome is significantly low.
12. Shiksha Mission is an initiative with an aim to provide
better education to the poor children living in slums and to
the school going children.
This mission also involves spreading awareness regarding
importance of education, motivation to the school going
children to continue their studies, helping children in
joining schools etc.
In this mission, children are not just taught by books.
Volunteers organize various activities to help children in
better understanding of concepts, life lessons etc.
14. Within three years of this mission, we have organized this
mission more than 30 times and in various places of Jaipur and
in other cities.
We have taught more than 2000 children.
We have also helped more than 1000 children in joining
schools.
We have distributed more than 5000 books to children and in
government schools to improve education.
Our campaigns, activities etc. have broken the ice and has
promoted equality in education.
15. We are planning to organize this campaign in most of
the cities of Rajasthan.
A large scale books distribution (around 10000 books)
is to be conducted in major cities of Rajasthan.
We are planning to make our NGO active in more than
100 cities by 2019 so that ours missions like Shiksha
Mission, Rahat etc. can affect wider audience.
