SCENE ONE

2. INT.A teenage boy, Cameron Haver sits in an average
sized bedroom, playing video games, in comfortable jeans and a white
T Shirt. It is bright, as the sun shines through the window,
creating a safe and cosy atmosphere. Cameron remains captivated by
the game.
CAMERON HAVER
(MLS,MS)Yells at the TV in a fit of rage, as he loses the game.
No, god damn it.
(MS,LS) He throws his controller across the room.
CUT TO:
ETHAN CRANE
(LS,MS) Walks up the stairs carrying boxes to the attic. He is
comfortably dressed, in a shirt and jeans.
(MCU,CU) He pulls out his phone and starts calls Cameron.
Hey, you alright man.
CUT TO:
CAMERON HAVER
(MS) He pauses his game and begins to speak.
Yeah, whats up?
CUT TO:
ETHAN CRANE
(MS)In a friendly manner, as he continues to put away boxes.
I'm just putting some stuff away in the attic and the parents are
out. Do you wanna come over and hang out?
CUT TO:
CAMERON HAVER
(MLS,MS) Exits the game and gets up ready to leave.
Yeah, i’ll be right over.
CUT TO:
ETHAN CRANE
(MS)Remains friendly as he hangs up the phone.
Alright man, see you soon.

3. SCENE TWO
EXT. It is midday, and the sun is shining brightly.
Cameron strolls through the neighbourhood, passing a few friendly
faces on
the way to Ethan's house, whilst listening to music through his
earphones.
CAMERON HAVER
(LS, MS, TRACKING) Walking to Ethan’s house.He arrives at the house
and rings the doorbell.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,LS,OTS) continues to put away boxes and hears the doorbell ring.
He walks in a rushed manner to answer the door, greets Cameron with
a friendly man hug and invites him inside.
Hey man, you alright?
CAMERON HAVER
(OTS,MS) Walks inside the house and shuts the front door behind him.
Yeah, yeah i'm good, so Xbox?
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,MCU) In a calm and friendly manner.
Yeah, soon. I’ve just gotta put a few boxes away in the attic. Can
you help me out?
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,LS) He inquires, as he picks up a box and follows Ethan up the
stairs.
Sure. What's in these boxes anyway?
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,MLS) Passes the box to Cameron, as he climbs up the ladder to
get to the attic.
Oh, it’s just old stuff my grandparents used to own. Hey, can you
pass me those.
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,CU,LA,HA) he passes the boxes up to Ethan.
Yeah, here.
(MS) he crouches down and browses through the items in the box

ETHAN CRANE
(MS,CU) A box from above falls onto Ethan and he lets out a shriek.
Ow!

4. CAMERON HAVER
(MS, HA) Suddenly becomes alarmed and inquires what
happened.
Ethan?! Are you okay? What happened?
(HA) There is an eerie silence, as Ethan doesn’t reply.
Ethan? I'm coming up.
(LS,MS) He anxiously climbs the ladder, and peeks inside. He finds
an enticed Ethan looking at items in a box.
What the hell are you doing man? You had me worried for a second.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,CU) Begins to pull items out of the box, looking fascinated by
them.
Look at this!
(CU)continues to pull items out one by one, showing them to Cameron.
CAMERON HAVER
(CU,MCU) anxiously questions Ethan
What is all that?
ETHAN CRANE
(CU,MS) remains intrigued by the items.
They look like old ritual items.
(CU,ECU) An old damaged piece of paper lies at the bottom of the
box. Ethan reaches inside and pulls it out. The paper contains a set
of instructions and an address. Ethan's face lights up. He begins to
read it aloud.
The Raven Woman. 54 oak lodge avenue.
CAMERON HAVER
(CU, MS) he becomes aware of Ethan's intentions.
No way. There's no way we're going there or doing a satanic ritual.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS) tries to convince Cameron in a joking manner.
Who said anything about a satanic ritual? Come on. Don't be a wuss,
it's probably nothing.

CAMERON HAVER
(MS) conflicted with what to do
No. Can't we just stay here and hang out?
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,MLS) he packs the items back into the box and prepares to climb
back down the ladder. He keeps a smug tone and expression.
Hey, you do what you want. But I'm gonna go check this place out.

5. CAMERON HAVER
(MLS) in a desperate and weak tone, as he follows Ethan down the
ladder.
Please Ethan. Can we not just hang out normally. We don't always
have to do dangerous stuff.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS, LS) ignores Cameron and begins to pack the items into a
backpack. He puts a coat on and opens the door ready to leave.
Are you coming with or what?
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,LS) half heartedly agrees, puts his coat on and they leave
together.
Fine.
CUT TO:
SCENE THREE
EXT. The sky is overcast and on the verge of rain. The streets are
deserted, as Cameron and Ethan arrive at the abandoned house. It is
rundown, dark and dull.
CAMERON HAVER
(ES, MS, TS) skeptical of his surroundings.
Well we're here. What now?
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,CU) ignores Cameron as he is in awe of the house. He walks up to
the front of the house, to find the door slightly open. He begins to
walk through, and turns suddenly to see Ethan trailing behind.
Coming?

CAMERON HAVER
(MS,LS) Walks slowly through the front door.
Right behind you.
INT. The house is deserted, and the two boys begin to explore it,
searching each room. It is dark and dirty. The two meet back down
stairs.
CAMERON HAVER
(MS) still apprehensive.
What now?

6. ETHAN CRANE
(MS) calm and unworried.
What do you mean what now? We came to do the ritual, so let's do it.
CAMERON HAVER
(MS) In a rushed and uneasy manner.
Okay, whatever let's just do the stupid ritual and then get the hell
out of this place.
(LS,MS,CU) Ethan and Cameron find a medium sized bare room, and
begin to set up the ritual. Ethan starts to pull items out of his
backpack, and lays them into the floor.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS) hands Cameron the ritual rules to read.
Here, read this and I'll set it up.
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,CU) skeptical, but reads aloud anyway.
Step one, Draw the curtains, ensuring no light leaks in from the
outside, and turn off all lamps and other light sources.
ETHAN CRANE
(MLS,CU) walks over to the partially covered windows. He picks up
the material, allowing light to peek through, and recovers the whole
window frame thoroughly with tape.
Next.
CAMERON HAVER
(CU) becoming visually more nervous as the room turns pitch black.
Draw a circle with the salt.

ETHAN CRANE
(MS,CU) sits back down, cross legged, opposite Cameron and removes
salt from his backpack. He is calm and composed, as he creates a
semi circle around him and passes the rest to Cameron to do the
same.
Your turn.
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,CU) hesitant, but does as told and creates the other half of the
circle.
Now, line up the five candles in front of you on the pentagram.
ETHAN CRANE

7. (CU,OTS) removes an old pentagram tarot cloth and
places it on the floor between the two of them. Then
brings out 5 tea light candles and places them on each tip of the
pentagram star.
Ready?
CAMERON HAVER
(CU) shakes his head slightly and raises his eyebrows, visually
showing his disapproval and places the paper on the side of the
pentagram cloth.
Let's just get this done.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,TS,SRS) takes out a lighter and lights the first four candles.
ETHAN CRANE CAMERON HAVER
(CU,SRS)both repeat at the same time.
On this dark night I call on the Raven woman appear before me here
and now and do my will.
(CU,ECU,MS) Ethan removes a pocket knife from the backpack and makes
a small prick in his finger. He passes the blade to Cameron who
doesn't even bother to argue. Cameron pricks his finger with the
blade. They place their blooded fingers on the fifth candle and
repeat simultaneously.
The flame is my beacon, the blood is my sacrifice.
ETHAN CRANE
(CU,MS,OTS) he lights the fifth candle.
(LS) They both wait, looking around the room for something, but
nothing happens.
What the hell? Now what?
(MCU) He looks at Cameron for assistance, who merely just shrugs.

(ECU) suddenly, the candles blow out one by one. Both boys are
visually scared and shocked.
CAMERON HAVER
(CU,LS) scared. Gets up about to leave the house.
That's it. I'm leaving.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,CU) gets pushed back against the wall and falls unconscious.
FADE TO BLACK:
SCENE FOUR

8. EXT. Ethan is in the centre of an opening in a large
and dense forest. He is surrounded by trees and
shrubbery. It is day, but the dense trees stop the light from
reaching the forest floor.
ETHAN CRANE
(ECU,MCU,ELS) confused as to where he is and what is going on. He
looks around, searching for answers.
What is going on…
(MLS, TRACKING) he gets up, thinking he sees the figure of a girl in
the distance. He follows the girl, but never seems to catch up to
her, and is taken onto a path.
Hello?
(LS,MS) The path takes Ethan to the edge of the forest, where there
appears to be a road. He navigates his way through the shrubbery.
Ethan is close to escaping the forest, when suddenly he is hit by a
blunt weapon on the back of the head, knocking him unconscious.
CUT TO:
CAMERON HAVER
(LS,CU) panicking. Shakes Ethan to try and wake him from his
unconscious state.
Come on! Get up man, stop messing around.
ETHAN CRANE
(CU) blood begins to drip from Ethan's nose.
CAMERON HAVER
(MS) very distressed. Gets phone to try to call for help, but there
is no signal.

God damnit.
(LS,CU) runs downstairs to try and leave the house. The front door
slams shut. Cameron is afraid.
CUT TO:
EXT. Ethan is back in the centre of the forest opening.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,CU) contemplating and touches the back of his head where he was
hit. There is no blood.
Is this real? Or a dream?
(LS,ECU) he hears whispers repeating his name, but decides not to
follow them and takes a different path. He looks behind him several
times, thinking he is being followed. There is a bright light in the

9. distance. Ethan follows it, but before he reaches it
he is again knocked unconscious.
CUT TO:
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,CU) returns to the ritual room, after unsuccessful attempts of
escaping the house. He slumps his body onto the floor, opposite
Ethan. Blood continues to pour from Ethan's orifices, Cameron makes
no attempt to stop it.
CUT TO:
EXT. Ethan has once again returned to the centre of the forest
opening.
ETHAN CRANE
(LS,CU) mentally disorientated. He hears voices in the distance, and
follows them this time.
What do you want from me Raven?
DISFIGURED WOMAN
(MLS) a strange disfigured woman sits rocking back and forth on the
forest floor.
ETHAN CRANE
(MCU) edges closer to the woman.
Hello? Are you okay?

DISFIGURED WOMAN
(CU) becomes still and points to a figure leering at Ethan. Begins
to laugh hysterically.
DEMON
(CU,SRS) starts to walk towards Ethan.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,SRS) walking backwards.
What the hell are you?
DEMON
(LS) starts to run towards Ethan.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS,TRACKING) runs away. Is caught by the demon and blacks out.

10. CUT TO:
EXT. Ethan has once again returned to the centre of
the forest opening.
ETHAN CRANE
(LS,CU) enraged
Whoever is doing this, I'm done with your games.
MONTAGE - Ethan finds several different ways to escape, each time
failing, and ending up in the same forest opening. The demon ‘kills
him’ differently each time.
- (MS) demon slits his throat
- (MS) demon snaps his neck
CUT TO:
CAMERON HAVER
(LS,CU) cowering in the corner.
ETHAN CRANE
(MCU) body violently starts shaking.
CUT TO:
ETHAN CRANE
(CU,MS) awakes again in the same place. He is broken. He finds a
sharp stone beneath his feet, and reaches for it.

Is this what you want? So be it.
DEMON
(MS) appears in front of Ethan. Emotionless.
ETHAN CRANE
(CU,ECU) takes the stone and makes a slit vertically down his
forearm. He does the same on his other arm. He falls to his knees,
as blood pours down and into the soil.
(LS,ECU) Ethan lets out a final cry, as his body collapses onto the
floor.
CUT TO:
SCENE FIVE
INT. The ritual room is dark and cold. Ethan and Cameron remain
opposite from each other.

11. ETHAN CRANE
(CU,MS,POV) gasps for air. Checks his wrist for cuts,
but nothing appears.
Shit. What the hell was all that. Cameron you won't believe…
(MS,SRS) he pauses, and sees Cameron shaking in the corner of the
room.
Cameron? You alright?
CAMERON HAVER
(MS,SRS) the shaking stops, but still there is no reply.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS) Anxious, stands up and to walk over
Cameron?
CAMERON HAVER
(ECU) eyes appear red
ETHAN CRANE
(MS) slowly walks over and is about to put a hand on his shoulder.
CAMERON HAVER
(MCU) turns around, eyes back to their normal colour.
Yes?

ETHAN CRANE
(OTS) unsuspecting
Jesus. You had me worried for a second, that something happened to
you.
CAMERON HAVER
(CU) emotionless. Nose begins to drip with blood.
No. I'm fine.
ETHAN CRANE
(MS) wary.
Are you sure. Your nose is bleeding.
CAMERON HAVER
(MCU) wipes blood away.
It's nothing.
ETHAN CRANE
(TS,MS) oblivious. Leads Cameron out of the room with an arm around
his shoulder.

12. Ok… Good. Let's get out of here. There's no way we're
messing around with rituals ever again. Some messed
up shit happened.
CAMERON HAVER
(CU) eyes turn red again, as he smirks.
