1. Persimmon Far!
I could almost taste the fruit in my mouth, it was a long trip to Hamilton,
but we were finally there, some of my mums friends my mum, my
brother and I were going down to a Hamilton farm to pick persimmons
right off the trees. "Photo time!" Said one of my mums friends as she
pulled out her camera. "But I don't wanna!" Cried my brother, it was
normal for him to do this but just stepped in front of the camera. After
about 100 photos we went on to the persimmon picking. We got our
plastic bags at the ready and started walking towards the persimmon
trees. "Wow!" I said as we entered, people went off to ask for ladders
so we could reach the nice juicy ones on the top of the tree, they came
back with two. As other people used the ladders, we went off to another
tree, without a ladder we had to climb it without one. "Come and climb
this one!" Called my mum as she pointed towards a tree. My brother
tried first, but he was to short to reach up to the persimmons. It was
now my turn, I climbed up higher and higher, reaching up to the perfect
one "Get that one, no that one!" Cheered my mum, I grabbed the
biggest one I could see and took it off it's branch and threw it down to
my brother, this continued on till I mum told me to stop, just then, I
realised how far up I was, I was the greatest climber ever! I jumped to
the ground and saw how many persimmons I had picked, it was about
two bags full to the brim! My brother filled the last bag up. Once
finished, we went to go pay for them. The price ended up to be $8.09.
After paying for the persimmons, we got into the car and followed
everyone home.
