•Brain State Model-survival state (Am I safe?), emotional state
(Am I loved?), executive state (What can I learn from this?)-
through practical skills we can teach to manage thoughts,
feelings, and actions and learn to use problem-solving skills
•7 powers for conscious adults: perception, unity, attention, free
will, love, acceptance, intention

meaningful jobs for all students, lunch with students, rule cards,
wish you well song and board, and times for celebration-individual
and group accomplishments (marble jar=free choice learning
activities)
•7 skills of discipline: composure, encouragement-building
school family, assertiveness-setting limits respectfully, choices-
building self esteem, positive intent-seeing the best in others,
empathy-identifying feelings of self and others, and
consequences-mistakes are opportunity to learn
