As we come together as an educational community in
Lake Tahoe, we acknowledge that we are gathered on
the historical lands of its original inhabitants, the
Washoe (Waši•šiw) Tribe.
A land acknowledgement is a recognition of
Indigenous communities in the stewardship and
protection of their cultural resources and homelands.
We recognize the Washoe Tribe and their native
lands, we honor these ancestral grounds upon which
we are collectively gathered, and we support the
strength and resilience that the Washoe continue to
show.
