11. poetry
For this workshop we’ll define poetry as a
condensed expression of your thoughts or
feelings.
Anything you put to paper with intention
can be poetry.
12. Immerse, Explore, Express
As a group, we will immerse ourselves in 2
short films from our OLIVE Film Collection.
Together, we will explore the themes brought
up in the films through discussion.
Individually, we will express our thoughts and
feelings through writing exercises to create
poetry as a response.
17. Share with the group:
How do we work hard to be our best,
while still taking care of ourselves?
● Set an alarm to tell me when to go to
bed and when to wake
● Set time aside on weekends to be
with friends, finish homework before
to make sure there’s enough time
● Having support groups

25. What’s coming up?
You are invited to share a few words to describe how
you’re feeling, or your thoughts on the film.
In small groups...
• When you feed negativity, it just keeps taking away from you
• When you give, give, give - they take, take, take
• The tradeoffs of work or school – sometimes they take to
much from us
26. How can we identify that a “yes”
today might lead to overwhelm in
the future?
In small groups…
EXPLORE…
• We say no in our minds, but not with our mouths
• If we’re having doubts, we need to speak up or it
can come back to bite us later
27. What can we do when
we’ve given too much?
In small groups…
EXPLORE…
28. Share your thoughts with the group:
● Take a break – assess, figure out what
we need
● Give ourselves permission to support
ourselves in whatever way we need
● Set boundaries
