Samsung seemed to be following its previous pricing strategy it did with Samsung Galaxy S3 last year to attract more consumers and to encourage Samsung users to upgrade their devices. 2. Samsung's Galaxy S3 was introduced with the same strategy. A 16GB Galaxy S3 device with contract was priced $199. Galaxy S3 32GB device was introduced at $299, comparatively cheaper than iPhone 5's 32GB device.
  6. 6. 3.The S4 sold 4 million units in 5 days and sold a total of 6 million in 15 days; this is the fastest selling smartphone in Samsung's history 4. To draw pre-paid and post-paid customers with lucrative rates, Samsung has also tied up with Vodafone. The five-inch display Galaxy S4, which has a 13-megapixel back-camera and a two-megapixel front camera, would take on Apple’s IPhone 5 (priced at Rs 45,500), the BlackBerry Z10 (Rs 43,490), the HTC One (Rs 42,990), the Nokia Lumia 920 (Rs 38,262), Sony XPeria Z (Rs 38,990) and the HTC Butterfly (Rs 45,990).
  7. 7. PROMOTION :: All of the methods of communication that a marketer may use to provide information to different parties about the product. Promotion comprises elements such as: advertising, public relations, personal selling and sales promotion. Advertising covers any communication that is paid for, from cinema commercials, radio and Internet advertisements through print media and billboards. Public relations is where the communication is not directly paid for and includes press releases, sponsorship deals, exhibitions, conferences, seminars or trade fairs and events. Word-of-mouth is any apparently informal communication about the product by ordinary individuals, satisfied customers or people specifically engaged to create word of mouth momentum.
