Any intentional, knowing, or reckless act… by
one person alone or acting with others,
directed against a student, that endangers
the mental or physical health or safety of a
student for the purpose of pledging, being
initiated into, affiliating with, or holding
office in an organization

the NEISD Student
Code of Conduct
and Texas Law
5. Physical brutality
• Whipping
• Beating
• Striking
• Branding
• Electronic shock
• Harmful substances on the body
6. Dangerous physical activities
• Sleep deprivation
• exposure to the elements
• confinement in a small space
• calisthenics
• “dropping to do pushups”
• Any other activities that subjects students to an unreasonable risk of
harm
7. Other examples
• Consuming excessive amounts of food or liquids
• Consuming alcoholic beverages, drugs, or liquor
• Threatening a student with ostracism (banishment)
• Any activity that causes or requires a student to violate the Penal Code
8. Hazing could happen anywhere.
What should you do if you know
hazing is taking place?
If you have first hand knowledge of hazing, you should
report this incident to a school official IMMEDIATELY
