1. 2014 OAC Preseason Track and Field Polls Released

The 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Outdoor Track and Field polls have been released, as the
Capital University men’s and women’s teams were picked 10th and eighth, respectively.
As for the Crusader men, they return numerous competitors for both the field and running events this
outdoor season.
In the field events, senior thrower Paul Baker leads the Crusader with multiple solid outings throughout
the indoor season. Also, fellow senior Theron Mackey looks to continue his individual success in the
throwing events.
Freshman Ryan Sandwisch looks to continue his competitiveness in the pole vault, earning multiple top
10 finishes during the indoor season.
The running events will feature multiple competitors for the Crusaders, senior sprinter Cory Smith will
look to build on his success in the NCAA Division III Championships qualifying, placing seventh in the 55-
meter hurdles.
Sophomore Brennen Hennings also looks to continue his strong performance from the indoor season,
having placed sixth in the 200-meter dash at his most recent meet in the OAC Indoor Championships.
Hennings also joins junior Travon Bodrick, senior Chris Colatruglio, and freshman Kessashun Arthur in
the 4x400-meter relay, while the 4x200-meter relay will feature Arthur, Bodrick, Smith, and sophomore
Torrelle Howard.
On the women’s side, the Crusaders are set to continue a solid outing during the indoor season, a season
in which they set numerous new records in both the field and running events.
Freshman Ashley Freshkorn looks to build on her impressive indoor campaign, a season in which she set a
new school record in the weight throw in January.
Fellow freshman Jordan Lyle also is set for a solid outdoor season, as she set a new school record in the
pole vault event back in February.
As for the running event, senior Caitlin Prange is ready to pace the Crusaders on the track, having set a
new school record in the 200-meter dash in March at the OAC Championships.
2. Prange will also combine with freshmen Taylor Atkins, Natalie Bayer, and Shaylynn Dornbush in the
4x200-meter relay, while the 4x400-meter relay will feature Prange and Dornbus, as well as freshmen
Caitlyn Tulloss and Rachel Rus.
