Thomas Jefferson  He was  the author of the declaration of independence First secretary of state Third president of the United States
Jefferson’s Writings There was 4 inscriptions found on the inside walls of the memorial. They describe his beliefs in freedom, education of all people, the need for change in laws and institutions of a democracy.
The Memorial It is built along the Tidal Basin, in line with the White House, other memorials and the capitol.
LINCOLN MEMORIAL
Abraham Lincoln was our 16th president. He was President during the civil War which was in 1861-65.
The memorial symbolizes his belief that all people should be free. The theme of the building represents the union.
The columns surrounding the walls stand for the 36 states in the union at the time of Lincolns death. Lincoln 2nd Inaugural address and the Gettysburg address.
The Washington Monument
George Washington is described by General, founding father, and the first president of the U.S. states.
 Guess what is unique about the memorials height. It is about 100 feet high
What does the surrounds the base of structure? 50 flags. What does it represent? 50 states of the union.
The Cornerstone of this monument was laid in July 4, 1848 but wasn’t open to the public until Oct. 4, 1888

When was the Liberty Bell cast? And where is it hung today? The liberty bell was cast in London England in 1752 By John Pass and John Stow, and is hung Independence hall
When and Why was the Liberty bell rang? It rang when the Continental Congress signed the Declaration of independence, the liberty bell has become a symbol of freedom.
How much does the bell weigh and what is it made of? It weighs 2000 pounds and is made of 70% copper and 25% tin
