Is the layer of permanently frozen soil of the very cold regions.
It has a geological age of more than 15 thousand years.

The permafrost is divided into two layers.

Molisol
Order of soilsder of soils.
Part of the ground.

In the subsoil of the planet.

There are many important methane reserves
in the permafrost.

It is estimated that the amount of carbon retained in
the permafrost is roughly twice that of the
atmosphere.
