There was more than athletic talent being pressed to peak perform:ance at
the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Behind the scenes, a multilingual
Olympic Message System ran round-the-clock keeping more than 10,000
athletes and officials in contact with families and friends, both far and near.

This study is a comprehensive research effort aimed at
evaluating a computer system design methodology. It
reports on the 1984 Olympic Message System (OMS),
a voice mail system that was developed according to
three behavioral principles. It describes a project from
start to finish-from design and development to actual
use by the customer. This research is unique in that
part of its purpose was to carry out a case study of
system design methodology. Consequently, the research
effort involved keeping a diary; recording observations,
results, and personal feelings; retaining early versions
of materials; and building a usage analysis recording
system in the final product and carrying out the
analyses later.
Fifteen behavioral methodologies used to achieve
good usability are described. The dates, times, method-
ologies used, and numbers of people involved, as well
as results, explain how the system development ac-
tually proceeded. All aspects of usability evolved in
parallel and under one focus of responsibility. We also
mention some mistakes made and how the behavioral
methodologies allowed us to identify and recover from
them. This makes it possible for the reader to learn
when and how a particular methodology contributes to
the design process, and how long it may take to carry
out.
PRINCIPLES OF SYSTEM DESIGN
In the past decade, we have been trying to arrive at
procedures that could be used to develop computer-
based systems that are reliable, responsive, easy to
learn, useful, and desirable. We have recommended
three principles [lo, 111 to test this research:

(1) Early focus on users and tasks. Designers must first
understand who the users will be. This under-
standing is determined in part by directly studying
their cognitive, behavioral, anthropometric, and at-
titudinal characteristics, in part by studying the
nature of the expected work to be acc:omplished,
and in part by making users part of thLe design
team through participative design or as consul-
tants.
(2) Empirical measurement. Early in the clevelopment
process, intended users’ reactions to printed scena-
rios and user manuals should be observed and
measured. Later on they should actually use simu-
lations and prototypes to carry out real work, and
their performance and reactions observed, re-
corded, and analyzed.
(3) Iterative design. When problems are found in user
testing, as they will be, they must be fixed. .

What are the business costs and risks of poor data quality?
Every company, Analytics should be executed on Standard data and it should be made mandatory. Poor Data Quality will have an adverse effect on the performance, ideologies, and also master plan of the company. In the Performace factor, Poor Data Quality end up in price rise, workers at the end of the day won't feel happy with their job. As a direct proportion, this would end up in customers not being happy with our product. They order a product and it ended up in delivering to a different address. The main disadvantage is we end up losing in all ways and correcting poor data quality involves a lot of dollars and hours getting wasted.(Redman, T. C., 1998)(Celko, J., 1995)(Davenport, T.H., 1997)

American Airlines is a major United States airline operating internationally and in the US domestic market. They have flights through out the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Problem
When American Airlines merged with US Airways they alienated employees which customer service. This deal created the world’s largest airline at the time.History of American Airlines, Inc.American Airlines, Inc. (AA) is a major United States airline. It operates an extensive international and U.S. domestic network, with scheduled flights throughout North America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and Asia. Its route network centers on five hubs at Dallas/Fort Worth, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. Its primary maintenance base is located at Tulsa International Airport (TUL). The company is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas.
American Airlines is a member airline of the Oneworld airline alliance, and coordinates fares, services, and scheduling with British Airways, Finnair, and Iberia in the transatlantic market and with Japan Airlines and Qantas in the transpacific market. Envoy Air, SkyWest, Inc., Republic Airways Holdings, SkyWest Airlines, and ExpressJet Airlines operate regional flights for American Airlines under the American Eagle brand.
The former parent company of American Airlines, AMR Corporation, filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2011, and in February 2013 announced plans to merge with US Airways Group, creating the largest airline in the world. AMR and US Airways Group completed the merger on December 9, 2013, with the new holding company American Airlines Group, Inc. being listed on NASDAQ that day, although the actual integration of the airlines under a single air operator's certificate will not be completed until a much later date. The combined airline will carry the American Airlines name and branding, and will maintain the existing US Airways hubs in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C., for a period of at least five years under the terms of a settlement with the US Department of Justice and several state attorneys general.
Predecessors
American Airlines has merged with several carriers since its formation in 1930 (which itself happened by a merger of 80 carriers), these have included Trans Caribbean Airways in 1971, Air California in 1987, Trans World Airlines (TWA) London Heathrow Airport Routes in 1990, Reno Air in 1999, Trans World Airlines (TWA) itself in 2001, and US Airways in 2013.

It is important that a formal design methodology is used as it provides a mathematical approach to coming up with a reliable database that consolidates all the environments that use the database. A design methodology helps as it provides a way in which the whole designing and development can be done with minimum errors. The design methodology helps in identifying the requirements, the specifications and design levels of the database and data warehouse up for development. The planning stage of the consolidated data base is very important as it involves the coming up with plans that will guide the development of the database (Mabogunje, 2015). It is important that a formal design methodology is used as it provides a mathematical approach to coming up with a reliable database that consolidates all the environments that use the database. A design methodology helps as it provides a way in which the whole designing and development can be done with minimum errors. The design methodology helps in identifying the requirements, the specifications and design levels of the database and data warehouse up for development. The planning stage of the consolidated data base is very important as it involves the coming up with plans that will guide the development of the database (Mabogunje, 2015). The plans help in managing quality, time, risks and other related issues that might affect the design and development of the database and eventually the data warehouse.
The three layers of the 3-level ANSI-SPARC architecture include; a physical schema which is responsible for defining how data is to be stored, a conceptual schema which is responsible for indexing and relating data, and the external schema which is responsible for showing how informatio.

IV. HUMAN RESOURCES INFORMATION SYSTEMS (HRIS)
a. HRIS were primarily seen as MIS sub functions within HR areas intended to support the “planning, administration, decision-making, and control activites of human resource management.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
