Q: So whatinspiredthe comebackthen?Didyoumissthe noise?
A: I’m notsure. If I’mhonestIthinkit wasthe simple factthatI wasstandingon the outside of all
thisactivity – and I meanmajoractivity.It’slike beingalittle kidthat’sinadifferentroomfromthe
one withall the toys andchocolate, the onlythingyouwantis to be inthere – where all the good
thingsare.I definitelymissedthe noise,yourlife can’treallygobackto ‘normal’, whateverthe hell
that was,afteryou’ve experiencedeverythingthattakesplace here.
Q: How didyoubecome a star rightat the start anyway? We can’t rememberwhenyoufirstcame
intomusic…
A: That’s difficult;I’ve beenreallybusysoevenIcan’tremember…[Laughs] Iwas14 I think,I

somethingreallyridiculousaswell;knowingme Iprobablythoughtitwasreallycool and refusedto
call it anythingelse –I’mstubbornlike that. God helpanyone thattriestochange somethingwhen
I’ve justmade itbetter.

A: Like I was saying– Imagine Dragonsare doingreallywell, attheircurrentmood,I’dsaythey
wouldbe able tohave the whole worldasfansif theypusheditfarenough. One artistI reallylike at
the minute isCalvinHarrisas well, the wayhe songschange smoothlyreallyhelpedhim…
Q: A rock legendlisteningtoCalvinHarris?
A: I’m definitelynotalegendyet,Ineedmore time togetto that status.[Laughs] YeahI like Calvin
Harris,I tendtogo through differentphasesof music –I’minterested inall songsreallysolongasit
has a good bassline andchanges.I’ve discoveredthatI’mone of those people whose moodchanges
dependingonwhatthey’re listeningto…So mymusicis more influential aswell,whenI’mlistening
to otherartists’ songs I’maware of what theydoto create that specificatmosphere.
Q: So youdon’tlistentoyour ownsongsthen?
A: Can youimagine howbig-headedthatwouldmake yoube?The onlytime I’ve listenedtomysong
iswhenwe’re tryingtodecide whetheritshouldbe scrappedornot… Everyone else’ssongsthough,
I tendto use themas inspirationforanew song – if I findone that’sa particularfavourite thenI’ll
use it as part of a newcreationorfiddle aroundwithitwell intothe early-morningstage.
Q: Do you have a favourite genre of musicthen?
A: Of course! It has to be remixes, the numberof songsyoucanmake usingall the onesavailable
throughoutthe years…It’sbloodymind-blowing. Itrulythinkthatif there evercouldbe a godof
music,itwouldbe DJ’s– theymake so manysongsand basicallylaydownthe back-tracksformost
musicians.Idon’tthinkthere wouldbe asmanysuccessful Artistsasthere are todaywiththe works
frompeople like DavidGuetta.
