1. Save The World – Relevant Theories and Media Language
Theories
Post Modernism –
We are using the ‘Parody’ theory, when we are using the ‘Boom’ and ‘Pow’
effects in the fighting scene.
There is also an element of ‘Playfulness’ in the video when using the signs.
It takes away all real violence, making it more suitable for all audiences
and there wouldn’t be a bias because of violence.
Genre Theory –
There is a relationship through the lyrics and the visuals that you see on
the screen. This is relevant when you see the iPod introducing the song,
and also when the main character is writing down ‘Save The World’ on his
paper when the song is singing it.
There is also a relationship between the music and the visuals that we can
see on the screen. This is particularly relevant when he is doing the
thought beats and you can see the beats being portrayed on the screen
through him tapping his foot and hitting the desk with a pen.
