Sept 2014- Feb 2015 CT Aerocomp (Aerospace)
Working as a contractor through an agency I was employed by CT Aerocomp to deliver a training
package (SHAPE) to the manufacturing engineers at Airbus UK at their Broughton site over a six
month period, alongside this I was tasked to project manage a specific work package from AUK which
involved managing an international team of analysts on a feasibility study (Nastran) A330
NEO/Beluga transport tooling, this involved being the first point of contact with both Airbus and our
German partners Sii. This included organizing regular meetings to monitor progress on the project
(mostly done using Webex). This was completed successfully and I am now seeking a new role
either as a contractor or employee, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry. . In Jan 2015 I
set up my own limited company Jannic Engineering and Training Ltd to enable me to become a
freelance agent.

Dec 2013 – Sept 2014
Various short term agency work
June 2013 to Dec 2013 Bosch Pharmaceutical (6 month contract)
I was employed as a precision machine tool fitter building high speed tablet manufacturing machines
after a short period I was given responsibility to build a prototype machine. This involved working with
the R & D personnel to iron out issues as they occurred during the build process, due to the
complexity of the machine I also worked closely with a team of electricians on the prototype machine.
August 2003 – June 2013
After the completion of the MB Faber Air Bus A380 tooling program I decided to take a career break.
Working as a sole trader I set up a small building and maintenance company during which time I
purchased a number of properties that required refurbishment. After their refurbishment I then rented
or sold them. This activity led me to purchasing a Grade 2 listed 1700c derelict barn. This property was
a major project and involved a lot of negotiation with local authorities to upgrade; I re designed all
aspects of the property including the electrical and plumbing within the house, it was completed in
October 2008.
August 2002 – July 2003 Proposals engineer (Aerospace) MB Faber Ltd (now James Fisher)
(Initially a 6 month contract)
Key Responsibilities
 Review invitation to tender and customer specifications
 Prepare bid or no bid documentation
 Help in the formulation of a winning bid strategy
 Identify and agree scope and time scales for all deliverables both internally and externally
 Collate and produce price calculations to reflect cost estimates and supplier pricing
 Evaluate contract and project risks
 Preparation of tender approval packs and proposal documentation
 Be involved in the negotiation process attend meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure
cohesion with customers’ requirements.

 Collate all the technical information required for the work package

capacity including trips to PFW in Germany.
 Liaise with bidders during the bid process to establish correct understanding of the work
package to ensure timely return of bids
 Assessment of the bids on arrival to AUK
 Reporting of the assessment to the relevant department heads and making recommendations
as to which suppliers would be most suitable based on their ability and capacity.

Key Responsibilities
 Analyse both the manufacturing and tooling problems which had occurred and report findings
to the board
 Propose changes and improvements to both the tooling and manufacturing methods to firstly
correct the existing concerns to satisfy the customer’s requirements.
 Implement the changes and liaise with the customers to ensure a satisfactory level of
improvement in the quality of the products.
 In the longer term propose further improvements in other departments to methods to improve
the overall efficiency of the manufacturing facility and improving quality across the whole of
the product range.
 Redesign of a manual bathing device to a remote controlled operation to allow disabled
persons to bath with ease and dignity.
 As quality manager I was tasked to implement ISO 9001 throughout the plant after the failure
of the existing manager.

I started on an Agency contract and after 2 weeks working in the factory I was offered permanent
employment. I was greatly involved with R&D and also the redesign of existing robotics to improve
overall efficiency and the commissioning of a new raw material handling system. This was very much a
hands-on situation with a great deal of autonomy, a situation in which I thrive. I also designed,
manufactured and commissioned a new automated insertion device for one of their production lines
(injection moulding) using AutoCAD.

Responsible for the design and manufacture of lost wax injection moulds based on component drawings
and samples mostly for the MOD, I became the highest paid employee in a paid by results/contract
environment.

I was mostly self-employed during this time selling life assurance, mortgages etc. I received various
awards for reaching and exceeding targets, in particular, two quality awards.

plastic injection moulds, compression moulds and automotive tooling.
