2. Educating Yorkshire
O This programme is broadcasted on
Channel 4, Thursdays at 9pm.
O It’s a mixed documentary as it uses the fly
on the wall technique and interviews.
O The school life for students and teachers
alike is the subject of exploration, being
presented in several points of view,
dependant on who each episode is about.

3. Educating Yorkshire
O This show uses narration, the narration being used to
establish the story or scene.
O The students and teachers are interviewed
occasionally to receive their point of view on the
matter at hand, as an example when Bailey explains
why she wears a lot of makeup.
O This is the sort of documentary used to tell stories
and express reality (although likely to be re-interpreted
in the editing stages to hide some
details).
O I intend to use interviews in my documentary, as
these I believe would be the best way to receive
information that could be helpful in receiving answers
in my documentary.

4. T.O.W.I.E
The Only Way Is Essex
O This programme is broadcasted on ITV Be
(as of October 2014), Wednesdays.
O This is a drama documentary as this
documentary is also classed as a soap
drama.
O Celebrities in Essex are observed, usually
going about their business.

5. T.O.W.I.E
The Only Way Is Essex
O When a character is introduced to the
story, their name dissolves onto the
screen, having this been edited after
filming.
O This is a feature I would like to use in my
documentary, though I would most likely
need the permission of those featured on
screen before their names could be edited
onto the footage.

6. The Dealership
O This programme is broadcasted on
Channel 4, Thursdays at 8pm.
O It’s a mixed documentary as it uses
interviews and narrated stories like the
voice of god technique.
O This documentary goes into depth of car
sellers and their job.

7. The Dealership
O As said on the previous slide, this
documentary uses interviews as cutaways
from the story.
O There is only narration to establish the
scene or explain anything unclear allowing
the story to flow digeticly.
O I doubt I will use any of the techniques
found in this documentary.
