2. Looking back at my prelim task I have progressed a lot, In terms of magazine structure and layout i have
advanced. For example on my front cover of my prelim the text and possitioning of the text overlaps
and isn't always inline and straight. However on my final front cover I have the text aliened and neat.
Also my Cover star on the prelim isn't central and misplaced. But on my final front cover I have
centralised the cover star.
Also my prelim cover is very bland and boring, my final cover however has a lot more going on in it.
Small things such as the puff on my prelim is oversized and he text doesn’t fit very well but on my final
cover it looks more professional and although is a lot smaller than the prelim puff is a lot more eye-
catching, I think this is because on the prelim there is too much blue text around the puff therefore
defeating the purpose of it to catch the viewers eye. The banner on skyline on the prelim has nothing on
it therefore has no purpose but on my final magazine it has a purpose to draw my target audience in by
advetising things that would appeal to them
3. Looking back at my prelim contents page and comparing it to my final contents page for the music magazine I
can see drastic differences, for example the font on the prelim for ‘ contents’ looks very childish, however on my
final contents, although basic looks professional. The text for the prelim contents page where the article are, is
too basic and quite limited and also the page numbers are squashed on to the page, however on the prelim
there is a lot more variety of articles and is more informative as I have a little section underneath the article title
briefly explaining what the article is about.
The pictures on my prelim aren’t good at all, they are placed to fill the page out and have no explanation on
them. But on my Final contents page the pictures are there for a purpose and actually tell the view the purpose
for the photo.
