3. The Friday the 13th franchise is famous in
the slasher /horror genre, the franchise
already has a target audience and by
showing Jason and his iconic murder
weapon, his machete.
The background Image does give away part
of the theme, when a forest is pictured at
night with little to none leaves especially
with a full moon shining brightly in the
background, most people would associate
this with the horror genre.
The iconography does suggest slight
gore, due to the fact the font is jagged and
dripping also the dark red used for the
detail which infers blood.
4. When I first saw this particular poster, the thing
that stood out for me was the tagline “the lucky
ones die first” this implied that suffering was one
of the themes and that the genre of this film was
going to be horror. The slight discoloured hand on
the woman's face with the glove infers the
protagonist has some sort of deformity which is
one of the basic conventions of a protagonist. By
only showing the hand this leaves the audience
wanting more, it leaves them wanting to see what
is causing the fear in the woman's eyes.
The typography is easily readable and the colour
chosen to represent matches the background very
well. This was done so that the point of the movie
is clearly projected however departing with the
notion of the audience wanting more and are
curious to however the female pictured shall suffer
at the hand of this deformed killer(s).
