Diagnosis and treatment of toxoplasmosis

1.  Toxoplasmosis is an infectious disease caused
by the ProtozoanToxoplasmaGondii. It can
be acquired or congenital

3.  Fever, Swollen limph nodes, Headache, and in
wekened immune system HIV/AIDS: lung
and heart problems, signs of severe infection
In Congenital toxoplasmosis
 Seizures
 Enlarged liver and spleen
 Jaundice
 Eye Infection
In adolescents  Mental disability, hearing loss

5.  cats contaminates after intake of rats or birds
infected with the Protozoan toxoplasma
gondii, eliminate the oocysts in the feces,
contaminating water and foods.

6.  The fetus is most vulnerable to infection and
acquires it via transplacental transmission

7.  Sorology: determination of IgG; IgM
 IgG pos. and IgM neg. : Imune
 IgG neg. and IgM neg : Susceptible
 IgG and IgM Positive : acute and/or active
Infection

8.  Do not ingest water suspected of
contamination, raw pork or lamb meat.
Avoid contact with cat feces.
