Our organization is a non-profit, social services-related start-up called Generations Total
Care Network (GTCN). GTCN is a subsidiary of Nivek Home Health and Associates, Inc.,
which provides home health care services, through federal Medicare and Medicaid programs
reimbursements, to Chicago’s inner-city elderly population. GTCN has two unpaid
representatives one who serves as founder and chairperson and the other as executive director.
The organization minimal current revenues, donations or grants but has a promise of support in
the way of office space and small loans from its founder who also serves as the administrator for
Nivek Home Health. However, GTCN’s mission is to provide services that relieve, address
and/or eradicate homelessness and poverty’s devastation among residents with a special focus on
those residing in the West Englewood area. Crises/transitional housing, job skills training are
some of the services rendered. Active liaisons with area social service vendors are a must for
referral/impact purpose.
GTCN gives priority to performance and results. GTCN serves the wants of the key,
external stakeholders and does add value to such. Focus upon long-term goals is desired and
attained through vigilant performance planning. GTCN builds its organization around information
and communication instead of hierarchy. It grows mutual trust and understanding. The mission
statement of GTCN never confuses ends with means and has wide vision. GTCN has a board that
reflects a focus on external elements and environments for which the organization does operate.
GTCN supports strategy with commitments. It uses its mission statement as a foundation
for commitment.
