David knows how very important, yet sensitive, financial topics are to most Americans. He
understands that sometimes people avoid what they don’t comprehend. This is exactly why he
believes it’s so important not only to provide extraordinary service and advise to clients, but
also to provide them with ongoing education.

these products and investments are the right fit for their situations and objectives. We don’t
only want our clients to successfully prepare for retirement, we also want them to go to sleep

clear understanding of their financial objectives and the strategies put in place to attain them.”
With 16 years in the industry, and the last 14 yrs with Lincoln Financial Group in the
Retirement Plan Services division, David has specialized in retirement plans and retirement
planning and brings an understanding, an expertise and an ability to simplify the sometimes
complicated terms and concepts within the financial planning process. Over the last 10 years,
David has been creating Communication & Education strategies (for all phases of the
retirement planning process) at the plan level and implementing them, along with financial
planning strategies, at the individual client level. In addition to retirement planning, David is
experienced in providing service and education in risk management, investments, tax planning
and estate planning.
“I sincerely feel that, although our industry has helped raise awareness regarding the
importance of budgeting and saving for retirement, as an industry there is room for
improvement in helping individuals properly prepare for their post working years from a truly
holistic perspective. I understand that retirement planning is about much more than just
replacing your working income, it’s also about preparing for the life changes that come with
each and every life transition. I believe that although the financial piece is of utmost importance
in the retirement planning process, to fully prepare for these years, is to also align objectives
and expectations for the life and the lifestyle you plan to lead during these years.”
Experienced…
After working as a Retirement Consultant for the first half of his career with Lincoln Financial
Group, David has spent the last seven years managing a group of over 30 Midwest Retirement
Consultants and Advisors for Lincoln, and was presented, back-to-back National Director of
the year awards for 2010 and 2011. Not only did David manage a group of Midwestern
financial representatives, but he also serviced retirement plan employers and participants and
was responsible for creating and implemented Communication & Education strategies for over
50 plans that ranged in size from $3M to $1B in assets.
David holds a Bachelor’s degree from Denison University and a Masters in Business
Administration from Ashland University. He is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist and
Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor and is currently working on his Certified Financial
Planner designation. David has also completed a course in professional coaching from the
World Coaching Institute and holds his Series 7, 63, 66 and 24 Securities Licenses and holds
the State of Ohio Life, Health, Variable Annuities and Property and Casual Insurance Licenses.
David is very excited to join the Trendency group in January of 2015.

His key responsibilities include the designing and monitoring of employer retirement plans, the
development and implementation of Communication & Education strategies for our employer
plans and the development of unique financial plans and strategies for individual clients.
David and his family live in Clintonville where he was born and raised. He gives back to the
community he feels has given him so much by volunteering through Clintonville Rotary and
local financial literacy campaigns. In his free-time, David enjoys spending time with his wife
Sarah and son Liam. You may also find him, when not working, golfing, backpacking, running,
skiing, eating at many of the wonderful Columbus area restaurants and running again.
David’s mission is to provide clients with the most impactful, empowering and informative
service and support through a combination of teaching, coaching and financial planning
expertise and processes. He is committed to successfully guiding clients through life
transitions and ensuring that wealth is established, grown and protected for the things that
matter most to his clients**. David believes that success will be achieved through his deep
commitment and passion to client service and education.
