These new features extend the capabilities and user experience of the QAD Web UI:
• Information and warning message display improvements: the information and warning messages are now displayed in a
vertically-oriented right-hand panel, which reduces potential distractions during data entry while improving message accessibility.
• Excel Integration: In addition to exporting data, you can now also import data from Excel. The data must be structured based on
the business component for the hybrid view, which can be determined by doing an initial export of sample data.
• Stored views with search criteria: you can now specify stored search default settings and include those settings as part of a
stored view.
• Hierarchical form grids: grids on forms can now show parent-child data relationships.
• Column menu on form grids: a drop-down menu (indicated by the ellipsis icon) is now included on form grid columns, allowing
you to sort, filter, and total column data. Additionally, numeric fields include average, count, minimum, maximum, and sum. Non-
numeric fields can be counted when Group By is applied.
• Group By option for form grids: on a form grid, from the More button, you can apply the Group By feature to form grids (on
hierarchical form grids, only applies to the first level).
• The More button was also added and will allow users to group data in the grid. This behaves similar to how it behaves in browses.
• QAD Web UI color changes for alignment with QAD brand color palette.

Project Team Training
Who:
QAD/Partner functional and modular consultants
Customer project team and SMEs (as required)
Overview:
Project Team Training is a crucial step in preparing the customer for testing the solution defined in the Business Process Workshop, preparing/updating work instructions & test scripts,
validating data and training end users. It is a layered approach where project team members build on their knowledge with each activity.
EOB Training Materials
Training is a layered approach where project team members build on their knowledge of each activity:
Business Process Workshops - not hands-on
Online Training Classes - Theoretical & Hands on
Guide Me - Hands on
Consultant led Functional Project Team Training - hands-on
Business Process Validation - hands-on
Conference Room Pilots - hands-on
When planning a project, a key decision is whether to carry out project team training using customer or QAD demo data.
The advantage of using the customer's environment with their data is that they will recognize and relate to it. The disadvantage of this is the organization required to ensure an
environment with sufficient data is available for use.
Key requirements are as follows:
Ensure there is a gap between the completion of the domain workshop and the start of the business process workshops
This gives the finance team time to complete the chart of accounts so that it can be loaded into the customer's environment
Next, load the pre-defined data - control files, generalized codes and non-customer specific static data.
Remainder of static data, items, boms, routings etc... can be loaded as part of the training process.
The number of days allocated for project team training will depend on the processes selected and the type of implementation being carried out.

Technical Team Training
Who:
QAD/Partner technical consultant
Customer IT personnel
Customer project team
Overview:
Consultants carry out technical, system related courses for IT personnel and related courses for all project team members. This is a key activity in transferring solutions
ownership to the customer and preparing them for ongoing system support.
Examples of areas covered during technical team training are as follows:
• Web UI
• NET UI
• Systems administration
• Progress
• YAB
• Q-Xtend
• Alerts
• Excelerator
Timings As per the modules selected for the training & User base
Domain Workshop

Domain Workshops
Who:
QAD/Partner - financial and operational consultants
Customer - financial, operational, SMEs, and project team members
Overview:
Discuss the company structure and requirements to develop a Domain design & coding strategy. It is extremely important for multi-site projects to ensure a standardized
approach is in place prior to the start of the Business Process Workshop. This will ensure a standard setup is followed for all sites/companies, which will maximize future
benefits of QAD EE.
Important to remember that strategic design discussion on standardization of data & coding conventions will involve all project team members and NOT just those in
finance.
Outcomes: Domain design and coding strategy
Key
Decisions:
Domain design
Standardization of data
Coding conventions strategy
Operational structure
Printed document policy (if shared - country or company specific and any local requirements)
Timings 1 – 5 days

Business Process Workshop
Who:
QAD/Partner financial and operational consultants
Divisional consultants - EDI, Automation Solutions, GT & TE, eQMS, DSCP - (if needed)
Customer project team members and SME's as required
Overview /
Objectives:
The objective of the Business Process Workshop (BPW) is to design a solution using the pre-defined flows and supporting attachments contained in the EOB process models. At the end of the workshop, project team members should understand the process flows, the
associated attachments and their relationship with the customer’s business. Divisional product consultants (EDI, Automation Solutions, GT & TE, eQMS and DSCP) should participate in workshops as and when required: Work through the processes with customer's project
team
Use information learned during the plant tour
Talk through the flows
Relate them to the customer's business
Illustrate requirements using attachments
Discuss & finalize test scenarios
Document test data to be used
Document required metrics with baseline measurements
Finalize roles & responsibilities (on a site-by-site basis for larger projects)
Answer any questions or issues raised during initial review and workshop discussions
Expectations and Outputs:
Expectations:
All process discussions must be carried out using EOB process maps. If customer's database is not available, the demo center data should be utilized
Initial design will be documented in the BPW
If there are different sites requiring alternate processes, these must be clearly documented in the BPW
Outputs:
Business process tracking document completed
Gap analysis & development tracking document completed
Static data manual updated with coding decisions
Define initial security requirements
Approve test scenarios, identifying additional where needed
Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with baseline measurements
Define test data (customers, items, suppliers, etc.)
Prior to giving the Business Process Workbook to the customer, PM's must ensure that only processes in scope are included in the document
Outcomes: Customer understands the processes and security model and has identified applicable test scenarios
Key
Decisions:
Finalized security roles and responsibilities
Confirmation of financial and operation processes
Test scenario outlines
Timings Time required to complete the BPW depends on the processes selected.

Data Loading Guidance
• Always test data loading during Test & Accept phase (Both the master and
dynamic data loading).
• Plan load sequence carefully to avoid errors.
• Ensure load files are in the correct format.
• Load methods:
• Excelerator
• Split loads when same records are not going to cause locking.
• Run up to 20 loads simultaneously (However be aware of
record locking).
• Increase number of sessions using many excel instances.
• Excel Integration
• Use Bulk Load for large volumes
• Advanced Financials Training Guide
• Plan for data load failures, especially during the first wave of testing the
load process.
• Record all timings and note any issues that occur – this will help improve
future data loading.
• Consider splitting large data load files into smaller files (e.g., No more than
30k records each) as this will make managing errors easier.
• Multiple Excelerator instances can be run at the same time but ensure that
there are no possibility of record locks.
• Do not increase the number of Excelerator instances for Generalized Code
Maintenance.

Data Loading Guidance •Always test data loading during Test & Accept phase (Both the master and dynamic data loading). • Plan load sequence carefully to avoid errors. • Ensure load files are in the correct format. • Load methods: • Excelerator • Split loads when same records are not going to cause locking. • Run up to 20 loads simultaneously (However be aware of record locking). • Increase number of sessions using many excel instances. • Excel Integration • Use Bulk Load for large volumes • Advanced Financials Training Guide • Plan for data load failures, especially during the first wave of testing the load process. • Record all timings and note any issues that occur – this will help improve future data loading. • Consider splitting large data load files into smaller files (e.g., No more than 30k records each) as this will make managing errors easier. • Multiple Excelerator instances can be run at the same time but ensure that there are no possibility of record locks. • Do not increase the number of Excelerator instances for Generalized Code Maintenance. 30 | May 26, 2022 | Copyright © 2022, JK Tech.
