programs in Minnesota. Design work plans & technology tools, develop techniques and procedures for
accomplishing goals and implementing regulation. Conduct presentations to internal and external
stakeholders regarding new processes. Annually evaluate food program budget and management plans
for large childcare organizations in Minnesota. Serious Deficiency Coordinator, Emergency
Management Coordinator. Fresh fruit and Vegetable Program Contact, National School Lunch Program
Equipment Grant Contact, Represent FNS at state-wide partnership group meetings.
Supervisor of Internal Operations: Integrity Management and Commodity Food Distribution 2002-04
Oversaw 3 functional teams of 11 professional staff: Integrity team, Service Center, and Commodity
Food Distribution for the administration of Federal and State child nutrition programs in Minnesota.
Team Leader for the Food Distribution Program Team, 2001-2002
Oversaw a team of 3 professional staff and managed the work of the USDA commodity food
distribution program for Minnesota. In addition, directed the work of the MN commercial foods pilot
demonstration activities and associated research done by University of Minnesota Carlson School.
USDA-approved Food Distribution Pilot Project Coordinator, 2000-2001
Coordination of activities surrounding the pilot planning meetings, pilot design development,
communications for pilot partners, team member activities, and building of product database.
Training Development Coordinator for Statewide computer training, 1999-2000.
Coordinate the work and schedule of 8 state trainers to provide 140 sessions of hands-on training for the
school foodservice operators the first year that CLiCS was launched. Applications, claims and FDP.
Nutritionist: School Meals Initiative Specialist, 1997-1999
Provided training and technical assistance to school foodservice directors regarding the 1996 USDA
Nutrition Regulations for school nutrition programs. Primary focus included computerized management
of school menus based on nutrient analysis.
Accomplishments:
 Facilitated the CACFP review team to develop a threshold based system for incorporating the
serious deficiency process into the monitoring site visit review results.
 Developed a workplan template and evaluation criteria rubrics for collection and evaluation of the
Fresh Fruit and Vegetable competitive grants in Minnesota.
 Lead the applications & claims team in the organization of a 3-year management plan binder for
multi-site sponsors; which included the development of questions to determine VCA.
 Prepared an Excel spreadsheet template to be used by all child care food program sponsoring
authorities in MN for the annual submission of a detailed budget to the State agency.
 Facilitated the design of several IT initiatives to streamline daily work, implement regulations, and

satisfy management evaluation initiatives.
 Implemented and managed annual work planning process for FNS; 6 teams including 34 staff
including the organization of the process, and quarterly progress report sessions
 Implemented and managed an expansive 3-year commercial food distribution pilot in MN
 Facilitated a food distribution partnership workgroup for 2 years and developed several
management tools for schools including sample Request for Proposal for purchasing
