This document provides guidelines and the schedule for a storytime session. It includes reminders about distractions, allergies, illnesses, crying, talking, and tardiness. The storytime activities include name and action songs, learning the letter of the day, reading stories about fish and bubbles, and doing a cleanup song. The goal is to build children's print motivation and make reading a positive experience.
3. Distractions
Please silence your cell phone before
storytime. And please… no texting.
---
Please put toys away. They are a
distraction to your child and others.
4. Food
Food allergies are a serious concern.
As such, food and drink are prohibited
from storytime.
20. The Goldfish Song
Let's go swimming,
lets go swimming,
yeah let's go swimming!
Let's go swimming,
let's go swimming,
in the bottom of the ocean.
21. Story Song
These are my glasses,
this is my book.
I put on my glasses
and open up the book.
Now I read, read, read
and I look, look, look;
I put down my glasses and,
WOOP, close up the book!
23. Clean Up Song
It’s time to put away;
It’s time to put away;
It’s time to put our books away.
It’s time to put away!

24. Five Fat Peas
Five fat peas in a pea pod pressed;
One grew,
two grew,
so did all the rest!
They grew and grew and did not stop,
until one day the pod went
POP!
27. Bubbles
One little, two little,
three little bubbles;
Four little, five little,
six little bubbles;
Seven little, eight little,
nine little bubbles;
Ten little bubbles go
POP! POP! POP!
TUNE: Little Indians
28. Homework
Build print motivation by making
reading a positive experience. Don’t
force book sharing; if your child
doesn’t want to look at books, stop.
You can always try again later.

30. Goodbye Song
Goodbye, goodbye,
we’ll see you soon.
See you soon. See you soon.
Goodbye, goodbye,
we’ll see you soon;
Goodbye until next time!
