Training for staff from Pediatric, Ob/Gyn, and Family Medicine clinics:
This day-long training is for those planning to implement the Teen Pregnancy Test Counseling
program. We welcome both inexperienced counselors who are learning new skills and
experienced counselors who would like to incorporate new updates (HealthConnect,
Contraception Protocols). MD/NP Champions are also encouraged to attend.
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
• Perform on-site pregnancy testing and counsel patients on test results, using Options
Counseling and Motivating Change methods.
• Counsel teens on birth control, abstinence, and sexually transmitted diseases.
• Explain confidentiality, domestic violence screening, and reporting guidelines
for adolescents.
• Understand next steps needed to implement the program.
