Job Responsibilities
As Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (MWD Dept.)
Currently assigned to ‘Measurement While Drilling (MWD) Department’ since 2012; prior to that was involved in the
‘Directional Drilling Tools’ department. Reporting to the Supervisor and leading a team of 5 resources.
Tool Maintenance & Operations:
 Supervising the team delegated for maintenance of drilling tools, servicing, trouble shooting, parts and equipment
sourcing.
 Servicing, troubleshooting, mobilizing of MWD tools, and supervising the maintenance of D&M equipment.
 Attending operations meetings and planning ahead to have tools ready for mobilization.
 Working on various tool modules to develop expertise and support the day to day activities.
 Tracking of Assets like drilling tools, subs and certifications.
 Conducting bi-weekly service quality meeting within department.

2.  Updating and enhancing the service schedules with local practices to improve reliability of the tools.
 Responsible for possible BHA configuration for the tool.
 Knowledge in API thread connections, follow up of tools thread connection inspections and repairs.
 Planning ahead to ensure completion of work orders to facilitate shipment of drilling tools at stipulated time periods.

Purchase,Procurement,and SCM:
 Creating local purchase order for both regions Abu Dhabi - UAE and Oman using the procurement & sourcing portal.

 Follow-up of shopping cart till the generation of purchase order and approvals.
 Preparation of RFQ for the fabrication and repair of equipment and parts.
 Evaluation of the quote, negotiate on the Terms & Conditions, get the necessary approval, provide the purchase
instruction to Project Admin to release the PO
 Coordinating with third party vendors.
 Interviews supplier representatives regarding specifications, costs, inspection, and similar problems relating to parts and
equipment

 Managing logistics & supply chain operations.
 Monitoring use & re-ordering of required inventory & spare parts while maintaining minimum M & S stock levels.
