The Eleventh Labour of Hercules involved stealing golden apples from the garden of the Hesperides. Hercules first caught the sea god Nereus to learn the garden's location. When he arrived, Hercules tricked Atlas into retrieving the apples by offering to hold the heavens while Atlas was gone. However, when Atlas returned, he didn't want to take the heavens back, so Hercules tricked him again into trading places so he could adjust his cloak, allowing Hercules to escape with the apples.
