Once upon a time, there was ASEAN Premiere School
were planning to having an activity for the month of
September but the teacher cannot decide what kind of
activity he could implement; he ask each of his pupils for
there own interest. So he can decided what to do.
Each of them have they own dream; like
this three girls. ( Maine, Margarette and
Megan) They love to cook, bake and eats
some foods.
We are best friends
forever!!! We are
already won in many
Cooking Competition.
We won a 3rd Place,
2nd place, 1st place
and never loss!!!!
Albert is one of the pupil who is actively
participating during the Science
Laboratory.
I am planning to
Participate in Science
Exhibit and I’m always
active in Science
experiment about
flying Car.
Floresca is one of the pupil who is a Nature
Lover, sometimes she is staying on the
Garden and having a conversation with the
Plants and Flowers. Tree Planting and
School Cleaning is my
Favorite school Activity.
We have a Garden in
our House!!!
Elizabeth is one of the pupil who loves taking
care of Animals
Visiting the Zoo is one
of my Favorite school
activity in our School.
Dexter the Boy Scout is one of the pupil who
always participating in Scouting, he is a
Adventurous boy.
I am a Boy Scout of the
Year!!!! Mountain
Climbing is one of My
dream.
Robert is one of the pupil who are really shy and weird.
He is not sociable and loner. Who is Robert really?
I want to travel in outer
space and I want to
ride in the Time
Machines and see the
Dinosaurs
Problem:
What School Activity should the teacher implement
in the Month of September?
Before that let’s have a lesson so we can help the
teacher in this Problem.
Those are example of our concrete and firsthand
experiences that make up the foundation of our
learning. These are the rich experiences that our
senses bring from which we construct the ideas, the
concepts, the generalizations that give meaning and
order to our lives.
DIRECT, PURPOSEFUL EXPERIENCES
• Preparing meals
• Making a piece of furniture
• Doing PowerPoint presentation
• Performing a laboratory experiment
• Delivering a speech
• Taking a trip
Examples:
THROWBACK TIME
Whyare these direct experiences described to be
purposeful?
These are not “mere sensory excitation”. They are
experiences that are internalized in the sense that
these experiences involve the asking of questions
that have significance in the life of the person
undergoing the direct experience.
Where should Direct, PurposefulExperiences lead us to?
It is implies that these direct experiences must not be
the period or the dead end. We must be brought to
higher plane. The Higher plane referred to here is
level of Generalization and Abstraction.
If direct, purposeful experiences or firsthand sensory
experiences make us learn concepts and skillseffectively, what
does this imply to the teaching-learning process?
•Let us give our students opportunities to learn by
doing.
•Let us immerse our students in the world of
experience.
•Let us make use of real things as instructional
materials for as long as we can.
•Let us help the students develop the five senses
to the full to heighten their sensitivity to the
world.
•Let us guide our students so that they can draw
meaning from their firsthand experiences and
elevate their level of thinking.
•Let us not be tempted to get stuck to the concrete
and fail to bring up our students to the higher level
of thinking process.
The Teacher Decided to have
an Educational Field trip in a
Dinosaur Museum and visit
the Planetarium.
Yeahhey… we are going
to travel the outer space
!! :D
